1. Who We Are
StepKcal ("we", "us", "our") is a calorie-estimation service available at stepkcal.com. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
The free calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter are not sent to us just to see your results.
When you generate a paid report or request the free 30-day walking plan, we collect the information you provide in the form:
- Age, gender, height, and weight
- Desired weight, daily step count, and walking pace
- For the walking plan: your email address
We also collect standard server log data (IP address, browser type, referring URL) for security and diagnostic purposes. We use cookies only for basic site functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to generate and display your personalised calorie report or walking plan. Report data is stored so you can return to your report via its unique link.
If you request the walking plan, we use your email address to send you the plan and occasional emails about StepKcal. Every email lets you unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your email address at any time.
We do not use your personal data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making beyond the calculations required to produce your report.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your report data is stored securely in our database. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. We retain report data as long as the service is active; you may request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected] with your report link.
5. We Do Not Share or Sell Your Data
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties. Your data is used exclusively to provide the StepKcal service to you.
We may disclose information only if required to do so by law or by a court order.
6. Payment Processing
Payments for any premium features are processed by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), our authorised payment provider. When you make a purchase, you will be redirected to Lemon Squeezy's secure checkout. We do not store your payment card details. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy governs the handling of payment data — please review it at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
7. Medical Disclaimer
All results, calculations, and information provided by StepKcal are for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. StepKcal is not a medical service and is not a substitute for professional medical guidance. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet or exercise regime, especially if you have an existing medical condition, are pregnant, or are under 18 years of age.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have rights regarding your personal data, including access, rectification, erasure, and portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at stepkcal.com/privacy-policy with the date it was last updated.
